Real Wedding - Jenny & Yoongu

I think Jenny and Yoongu might take the title for most DIY Projects in one wedding! She created ALL the flowers, escort cards, some details on her dress, the invitations, even the cake topper. Impressive! Jenny & Yoongu had a traditional ceremony in Korea, then also celebrated with a wedding in the states.

Because the couple travels so much, their invitations were made to look like passports and the escort cards resembled plane tickets. Instead of a traditional guest book, guests were encouraged to leave messages on vintage postcards. Lucky bamboo was given as a favor, complete with miniature compasses to include the travel theme. And their adorable airplane cake topper was up for grabs to the guest who could guess how many miles the couple has traveled together (answer: 75,000)! Big thanks to Caroline Tran for sharing her beautiful photography - head over to her blog to see more pictures from Jenny & Yoongu and stay tuned for an amazing bridal session from Caroline tomorrow!

B.Poetic Giveaway

I completely forgot to remind you all about the B.Poetic Contest this week - whoops! Since I am a fool I am going to extend the contest through the weekend, so that now comments will close on Sunday at midnight (CST). Go to the original post and leave your comment to enter!

Quick Palette: Blue and Yellow

Sometimes I come across a picture that I save and really want to use in an Inspiration board, but the board just never comes together. So I decided that instead of just giving up on them and not sharing the picture, I would just start throwing together a quick color palette based off only one image instead of an entire board. Consider this the first - what do you think? (Image from ethanollie's flickr stream)

Philadelphia Wedding Project

The Philadelphia Wedding Project is made up of all the photographers you see above, and they are giving away a FREE wedding shot by all six of them! The photography coverage includes an engagement session, boudoir session (if desired), all day wedding day coverage by all six photographers, a custom designed album, two parent albums, and an online proofing gallery. Go to their site to read about all the rules and how you can enter. Definitely worth a shot (pun intended)!

Jess L.C.

I absolutely adore the jewelry from Jess L.C. Based out of Chicago, all of the designs are handmade and extremely affordable. Don't they look like they could cost hundreds of dollars? Everything is well under that price range, and when I emailed Jessica to ask if I could write about her designs, she reminded me that she offers a 25% discount for bridal parties with multiple maids. Just email her and mention the discount to receive 25% off your order (plus, free shipping on orders over $60!) She also has a really cute blog that is worth checking out - a girl after my own heart!

Real Wedding - Toledo, OH

Remember Ashley & Jason's adorable engagement session? Benjamin Derkin (of Derks Works) just sent over their wedding, which is equally as fun. I have to admit that until a few months ago, I wasn't a fan of purple in any shade. But its quickly becoming one of my favorite colors - check out those bridesmaids dresses! You can see more pictures on Benjamin's blog, and I have listed more of Ashley & Jason's vendors below:

Wedding Planner: Nikki Wolfe – Elite Events
Super-Fun Band: Grand Avenue Band
Photo Booth: Flashback Photobooths
Photography: Derk’s Works

B.Poetic

I adore these blooms from b.poetic! Made from vintage linens, they can be pinned to your shirt, your belt, to your purse, pretty much any surface that could use a petal or two (and really, what surface can't use a flower?)

B.poetic also offer shoe clips, hair clips and corsages and the ever lovely owner of the shop has offered up a giveaway to all of you! Take a look at her blog and/or her Etsy store, and leave a comment here letting us know what design you would choose. You have until Midnight (CST) on Thursday, August 27th to enter. The winner will be announced over the weekend. Good luck!

Air Your Dirty Laundry

When I read the email from Elana at Melangerie, I knew I had to share this idea as soon as possible! They are offering this adorable "Dirty Laundry" idea in a variety of colors on their site, which is perfect for showers or casual receptions. The concept is this - the kit encourages event attendees to decoratively air out the guest(s) of honor's "dirty laundry" by jotting funny stories on note cards shaped as t-shirts, tank tops, pants, and skirts. It comes in this cute little laundry bag, full of all the supplies you need (including mini clothespins, clothesline and a label explaining everything that fits on a real detergent bottle). I love it! Check out their Etsy Store for more color options and details.

Cocktail Umbrella Lantern

How cute is this idea? Recycled cocktail umbrellas attached to a paper lantern for a unique twist on the traditional. These would be adorable at hanging outdoors for a cocktail hour {from T.O.M.T. via the haystack needle}

Balloons in Weddings

They are certainly everywhere these days, but I still can't seem to get over them. They just seem so happy to me - and that mansion! It might be my favorite balloon picture yet.
