Vintage Inspired Engagement Session

I know you lovelies are craving an uber-stylish engagement shoot to wrap up the week and, oh my goodness, do I have just the e-session for you. Engagement shoots are a great way to infuse your personality and maybe even a few unique ideas into your special day. Case in point: this "Rat Pack" inspired e-session. I completely admire this couple’s style. Everything from the cool outfits to the vintage bikes and the props really turn up the volume on the vintage vibe. These two clearly know how to have some fun and the fabulous work from Joleen Willis Photography is the perfect compliment to their creative personalities.

From Joleen... Sadie and Steven planned their engagement session to very closely correspond with their wedding, which will feature a "Rat Pack" flair. Sadie has an affinity for the clothing of the era, and Steven was happy to go along. Their session included a few carefully chosen pieces, including a vintage camera once owned by Sadie's uncle.

{Engagement Inspiration} : Vintage Bikes - Part 2

Happy Monday! I hope your Thanksgiving weekend was full of joy! I’m starting of this week with some inspiration on my favorite props for e-sessions, vintage bikes. These super-fun elements give engagement shoots a colorful, tender touch and a bit of excitement. The following photos are so cute that you would probably end up bring a pair of bicycles to your own engagement shoot.

Keep in mind that the key-factor when incorporating vintage bikes into e-sessionsis the pop of color (in my humble opinion, pastels or bright hues work best).

{Wedding Trends} : Lace Cakes - Part 2

Yaaay,!Part 2  of Lace Cakes is here! Grab a fork and spoon because y’all are going to eat.this.up. Seriously, every last bite of it!

Lace Cakes are having a moment and I couldn’t be more thrilled. These pretty confections are romantic, elegant and can give a beautiful touch of vintage charm to your wedding day. My tummy is already rumbling for this scrumptious looking spread of cakes. So, I’ll go grab a bite and I’ll leave you with more gorgeous Lace Wedding Cakes! (image source)

How lovely are this blue cakes with white lace? They're also a great option to fulfill the something-blue tradition. (left, right)

Gold is one of the biggest trends in wedding cakes right now, add up some lace, and you get this luxurious confection. Check out my post about Metallic Cakes to see more gold cakes. (left, right)

For a more modern look consider adding a touch of bright color, such as this orange cake or this purple one.

{E-Session} : Christie + Chad by Ideology Photography - Part 2

Just in case you haven’t completely fallen in love with Ideology Photography by Jessica Santiesteban after Christie and Chad e-session featured yesterday, I’m going to clinch the deal now!

Christie and Chad are both writers, so they decided to capture their affection for of books on this second part of their engagement session. It is filled with vintage books and a whole lot of love! It’s fresh and sincere and simple wonderful!

{Real Wedding} : Abril +Eloy by Lemonmaple - Day After

Prepare to be swept off your feet by a super rustic, perfectly western and all around gorgeous day after session.  This vintage trash-the-dress shoot is coming to me all the way from my lovely hometown, Chihuahua Mex.  The country may be different but the amazing desert backdrops and western details look very, very familiar.  It was photographed at the groom’s family ranch and Abril, the beautiful bride, styled every single last detail of this day to perfection.  She is a creative, artistic soul (and a graphic designer) if I ever saw one and lemonmaple photography snapped these stunning pictures to prove it.
