It's all about Apples
I thought I had seen everything when it comes to the use of apples as wedding favors until I saw these beautifully photographed images from Lucy Manalo of Manalo Empire Photography. I fell in love with these incredible apples. Ana Gonzalez from Berry Beautiful Creations crafts and designs these astonishing breath-taking pieces of art. Each apple is hand decorated! Aren’t they gorgeous?
Quick Palette: Pink and Orange
I've had this picture saved on my computer since December, and despite all the colors it was kind of hard to just pick a few for a palette! I think pink, orange & gray fit the bill but you could certainly throw in the aqua and green hues as well. {Image from SimplyBloom Photography via Ritzy Bee}

Getty Museum Engagement
The fabulous Emily Engle sent over this engagement session at The Getty, and I still can't decide which I like more - the architecture photos or the adorable couple! I love how Tyrone clearly cracks Kanieka up (even when she's nervous to have her picture taken, according to Emily). So sweet! Are you scouting out any unique locations for your engagement pics?
Sponsor Spotlight: Whiteflash.com
I am happy to welcome a new sponsor to the blog - Whiteflash.com! If you're in the market for a wedding band, engagement ring, or pretty much any kind of diamond jewelry you can find it there. I'll even admit to looking at some of the right hand rings last night...some of them would make really fun alternatives to the traditional wedding rings! Welcome to the blog, Whiteflash!

A Unique Hat Stand For the Cowboy in the House
Do you have a lamp that can't be used? Maybe it just needs rewired or maybe its broken? I found this lamp for just $10 and wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with it. (There is a reason it was only $10.00, it is broken at the base and is not safe to use as a working lamp)
My husband's hats always end up on the dresser. This little guy seems to do the trick of keeping them in one spot.
Giveaway Winners!
Yikes! Remember about a million years ago when there were several great giveaways happening? And then I got so caught up with other things that I forgot to announce the winners? I am so lame! Please forgive me and accept this list of winners as my penance...
The LeapYear Movie Grandprize winner is: kalliejenn81
And the THREE runners up are: Marian, Cupcake Wedding, and bioflow
The Hazel & Harlow Giveway Winner is: Sarah (commenter #12 on that post) who said, "Favorite holiday tradition? Drinking egg nog with a drop of rum, and making Christmas Eve dinner with my Dad, Step Mom, Brother and now Fiance! I can't wait."
And the winner of my giveway to you, the wreaths and the flipflops, is: Natalie (commenter #24 on that post)
Congratulations, ladies! Send me an email with your contact information and I will make sure your respective prizes are sent your way. I am thinking we need to come up with a better system for both entering and me announcing the winners, so I will put some thought into that too!
Maisie Fantaisie
Because I am in the mood for some cake today (and its been awhile since we've had a cake post) I thought I would share these from Maisie Fantaisie! Looking through all the inspiration photos I've compiled in the last two years, its clear that I really like simple cakes with different sized tiers and these certainly fit the bill. I think the ruffled one below might be my new favorite because its so unique! Which one do you like?
P.S. The new question & answer forum is really enjoyable! If you have a burning question, pop on over and ask away.

I heart Long Tables
Long tables look amazing in any kind of wedding. Whether your theme is vintage, modern or classic, long tables give event designers a new element to work with. They can be mixed with round or square tables and they are still going to look great. Take a look at this beautiful table-scapes and take the chance to do something different for your wedding.
Alee & Press
I am really appreciating the clean, classic designs from alee & press. I am always a fan of something that will be relevant years down the road and these designs certainly fit the bill! {Found via Lovely Morning}

Ask Me!
Hello, friends! I know I might not say it often enough, but one of my favorite parts of this blog is getting to interact with all of you. The emails, comments, tweets, I love them all! So to make getting in touch even easier, I thought we might try out a new forum. Simply ask me a question (doesn't have to be wedding related) and I can answer for everyone to see. There were a few random questions to start out with, and I will add a few commonly asked questions, but now let's see what you've got! Ask me anything! (P.S: Feel free to ask anonymously, just be gentle)
Real Wedding: Otto, North Carolina
I am excited to share this wedding with you for a lot of reasons, but most of all for the level of perspective it brings to wedding planning. As I was planning my own someone told me that if you say "I do" at the end of the day, that is really all that matters! Ben and Anna Grace are proof of that, and their joy and excitement shines through in the pictures from T2 Photography.
Ben and Anna Grace met at their church, and Anna Grace said that one day she wanted to "marry a guy just like Ben." So sweet. When they decided to get married they knew that they wanted it to be at Ben's grandparents cabin in North Carolina, and they planned for the wedding to be next year. But when they decided to take advantage of the beautiful fall colors they moved things up and planned the entire event in 8 weeks! And when they realized rain was inevitable on their day, they moved ahead regardless and the family scrambled to come up with a tent just in case. Thomas and Sarah Boutwell (the fantastic photographers) bought 8 umbrellas so that they could get some outdoor shots, and clearly those are some of the most beautiful images of the day. As it turned out, the rain only lasted for about 15 minutes and Ben & Anna Grace had a gorgeous outdoor wedding!
The his & her mugs you see were filled with warm apple cider, and Anna Grace adorned her shoes herself (below) with flowers. I just love that this was truly a family event, and that the show went on despite what could have been considered setbacks! Be sure to head over to T2 Photography's blog to see more images from the event.
