Quick Palette: Plum and Grey

There is so much to love about this palette - its neutral without being predictable and the plum is so unexpectedly lovely paired with gray. I am not a huge fan of purple shades and this makes me want to paint a room in this palette! Not to mention, the picture is so fantastic in every way. I hope you all have a great weekend! {Image via 100 Layer Cake}

Farmhouse Wares

Last week I came across the most lovely little online store called Farmhouse Wares, which has some charming items that could so easily be used for wedding decor. How cute are those zinc placecards? You write on them with chalk, so they can easily be wiped off and reused. It begs the question - I wonder if you could get a calligrapher to write in chalk? And I am so close to buying those cupcake stands for no reason at all....happy birthday to me?

Eventology: Event Professionals Night Out re-cap

Last week we had our first Eventology: Event Professionals Night Out, and it was a complete success. We met a lot of interesting people, talented and famous vendors came together, and we had the opportunity to hang out with old friends. I think everyone had a great time. Here is the proof!

See you at the next Eventology!     Photography by Job Nava

Real Wedding: Punta de Mita, Mexico

Alex and Matt's destination wedding in Mexico has such a relaxed and sun-kissed vibe, it makes me wish I was married on a beach! They gave away fans to all of their guests so they could stay cool during the beach ceremony and at the reception there was a cigar bar and a fire circle for roasting s'mores. And it goes without saying, I adore all of the succulent centerpieces and the star lanterns - perfection! {All photographs by the talented Elizabeth Lloyd}

DIY Project: Cupcake in a Jar

This project is so adorable (and looks so tasty) I could hardly wait to share it with you! I think just about anything in a mason jar is instantly charming, but red velvet cupcakes? Such a lovely idea. The spoons tied to the jar with bakers twine is really a finishing touch and I am pretty sure these would be perfect for showers, wedding favors, even hostess gifts. You can find all the instructions and many more pictures on the fabulous cakies blog. And as the stickers say - enjoy!
