Surprise Wedding!

My friends, not only is this a surprise wedding , there is also a "Say Anything" moment courtesy of the groom (oh how I loved that movie). Ames & Kelley met online in 2008 and upon seeing Kelley's profile picture Ames said that he "already knew what her laugh would sound like." Does it make me a hopeless romantic that I think that is unbearably sweet? Probably.

Ames and Kelley each have two children, and after they dated for quite awhile they asked the children how they felt about everybody living together. After a resounding "awesome" was declared, they moved forward with their lives together. Shortly after, Ames proposed to Kelley after the two went skydiving (a goal of Kelley's before they turned 40). As Kelley was coming in for her landing, Ames was on one knee with a sign that said "Will You Marry Me?" Clearly, she said yes.

After their two sons convinced them to have a December wedding (snow is cool, don't you know) the couple decided to make it a surprise wedding. They lured their guests to the Curtis Hotel in Denver under the guise of an engagement party. Ames greeted the guests while Kelley and the kids waited across the street, and then (superman style) he pretended to get a call from Kelley that her car had broke down, and ran off for a quick change to meet the rest of his family.

The wedding planner then told the guests to follow her to another location, where Kelly, Ames and the kids were waiting to start the ceremony! For the ceremony music, Ames enacted his "Say Anything" moment, holding up a radio while Kelley and the kids all walked down the aisle. I absolutely love this story, and I love how clearly happy they are in all of the photos. Congrats Ames & Kelley and thank you to Jason G Photography for sending over these amazing photos!
